What a Week! Welcome Weekend.

Some much needed one to one time.

Phew, I…we… made it.  End of another week filled with adventure and misadventure

and never a lull in-between.  Weekends are certainly not a rest time, not with 8 kids home from 18 to 3yrs.  Weekends are however less stress believe it or not! Just as busy but not as demanding.

This week I saw my home broken into by my goat and pony, Photos here .  This event was 1 hour before I was due at school to watch action man (5yr old) receive his first ever merit award. (FYI: I MADE IT)

This week saw me take a child to see Elmo in Concert, while the concept was great the headache after from unrelenting, tired, grumpy, whining babies who did not really want to be there, I’m not sure was worth it.  Yeah I guess I’m getting old. :-)

I dealt with one child who tangled their hair and needed a home repair haircut and a child who has a repeated affair with head lice due to an attachment of wearing other kids hats at childcare.   I made the decision to shave that child’s head.  Don’t be concerned,  Mr Toddy looks amazingly cute with no hair and I’d rather that than continue to traumatise him with de-licing routines.  It’s a season he will grow out of and thankfully they didn’t spread to anyone else in the home.

My week saw me sent a loo cleaner to product test. (blank stares #_#)

We were blessed by a baker who felt we were a great way to dispose all their end of day products (that were not dried out)  for a mere $20, much to the kids total delight and my delight at seeing their excitement.

To top it off I commenced a path that I travelled 4 years ago that saw me drop 20 kilos and regain my health only to take on another baby under already stressful conditions and consequently (stress eating) regain poor health and fitness over the years.

I’m now day 5 of a supervised, well balanced carb free cleanse and I’m feeling better than I have for a long time.  I’m eating more meat, greens, nuts, cheese, eggs and mushrooms and drinking lots of water.

So yep it’s Friday and all of the above since Monday.  Nothing unusual in my home.

Oh and today before we finally greet the weekend  we have a specialist appointment, a theatrical rehearsal, basketball game, movie night for younger five and a masquerade ball for Miss Teen.

WELCOME WEEKEND

Some days are so darn tough, how you confront
them is your choice!

What a week. When I was growing up we lived next door to a baker, and at least once a week his wife would arrive with their leftovers (free). Mum would wrap each item in cling wrap and freeze, and then the following week there would be a couple of pie nights and cream buns for dessert, and finger buns for recess at school. We could have put on a lot of weight if mum didn’t manage it well! When there was excess we’d drop it off to the local orphanage or boarding school. It pays to live next door to a baker!!!

None of that on your diet of course, but low carb is a great way to force yourself to eat more of the good stuff – glad you are feeling so great. All the best with it! x

Hi Rachel, totally on the mark. Treats are so enjoyable when the parent is in control. I only drop in once a week, it’s becoming a special day. :-) I was very good, I resisted despite the awesome scent emitting from the bakery box.

Wow! Certainly never a dull moment in your house! I was wondering what you’ve been up to as I haven’t seen you around the FYBF traps…now I know!
Enjoy the weekend and hope you get a chance to rest up! :)

I was out all day at appointments, had to navigate posting the link via iPad which I’ve never done before… I’m going to the Every Woman Expo is that considered rest? :-)
