Child Development and The Creativity Project

Every now and again I’m approached to post a topic from outside ‘The Bumpiest Path’.   Sometimes it’s a paid post, a product review or a sponsored adventure.  Not enough to send me on holiday but enough to keep me stocked in coffee!

Blogging is about sharing.  My life, adventures and misadventures, and things that I believe are worth sharing because you shouldn’t miss out.   Especially when it comes to the topic of Children.  It’s as simple as that.

Today’s post is that kind of sharing.  No money, no reward just pure, simple sharing, no strings attached.   Read this, if you work with children print it and quickly go hit your boss for the registration fee.  Tell em ‘Mum Says’ :-)

( Good Luck)

THE CREATIVITY PROJECT –   A braver,  more creative world for children

Studies show that arts education in childhood leads to optimal brain development and supports all learning including numeracy and literacy. THE CREATIVITY PROJECT is a first of its kind conference in Sydney that will dissect the links between the artistic process and the learning process and to explore the advantage an arts incorporated education brings to general learning and development.

Taking place at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Wednesday March 13, 2013, THE CREATIVITY PROJECT will be hosted by renowned Journalist and Presenter Annabel Crabb and feature a line-up of inspiring speakers including John Marsden, celebrated Children’s Author, School Founder and Principal; Richard Gill, the highly esteemed Founding Music Director of Victorian Opera and distinguished Conductor;Lincoln P. Jones, a 16 year old published Writer from Wollongong who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2, and Sandra Jones, (Lincoln’s mum),  Professor and Director of the Centre for Health Initiatives.

Speakers will discuss the techniques and benefits of dynamic and artistic childhood learning environments and ways to enhance creative thinking whilst equipping children with crucial lifelong skills. The conference is designed for parents, educators, arts and cultural workers, recreational leaders and anyone seeking a more creative world for children.

sounds like it could be very informative. i am ashamed to admit i’m one of those very non-creative parents and was thankful when my child started kindy so he could do “all that stuff” that I didn’t do with him. -Aroha #teamIBOT
