It’s Christmas Eve here in Bumpyville, I’ve had 5 kids running around screaming ‘it’s Christmas, it’s Christmas’. So while I cuss at school holiday club for deciding not to open today I can’t help but smile that these children are feeling the excitement that all children should feel. These children are the lucky ones, little do they know that though. A touch of innocence coming back into their lives. Meanwhile I’ve covered my bench top in everything needed to create some yummy and not so deadly Christmas Desserts for tomorrow, Christmas Day.
Suddenly right when my nerves were all be frazzled from an all too hyped Mr Toddy it dawned on me that Daycare had NOT shut today and so why had I totally forgotten to drop Mr Toddy to his use regular placement! A quick phone call and into the shower he went, all nice smelling and refreshed, lunch in his tummy and he was deposited where he can laugh and play to his hearts content while I finish off preparations. (HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF)
It’s forecast for 39C tomorrow, for my beautiful American readers that is 102.2F.
My family will waken to a delicious megga cooked breakfast, steeped with mushrooms, tomato, egg, baked beans and a touch of bacon and pork sausage. I insist everyone eats up knowing it’s a great base for the onslaught of Christmas treats.
We will then aim for our first home based, immediate family Christmas Dinner of Ham, white meat, lobster and a crisp array of salads. That all consumed out will come BumpyMum’s first ever Christmas desserts.
For now, Christmas Eve we are off to afternoon tea with the most beautiful couple in the world Mama and PapaG, my mentors, spiritual leaders and the awesome lady behind all that mango picking. Followed by collecting Mr Toddy, having dinner and joining many others in a Christmas Eve Carols service.
When we return home each child is allowed to open ONE gift from under the tree from a friend or relative while we enjoy hot chocolate. This year I may enjoy a coffee affogato with BumpyDad. Then it’s off to bed.
So that’s our busy plans for the next 48 hours.
I take this opportunity to wish all my beautiful, supportive readers, tweeps and Facebook friends a
Thank you for an awesome year.
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and enjoy your time with your family and friends.
